The Central Government has announced that new rules related to online gaming will officially come into effect from October 1. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that these regulations are aimed at bringing discipline and accountability to the online gaming industry.
Currently, gaming companies and stakeholders are being given time to align with the new framework. The government emphasized that strict measures will be taken to monitor online gaming platforms and protect players from harmful practices.
These rules are expected to create a safer environment for online players, ensure transparency in operations, and regulate gaming content. The Centre has also notified the establishment of self-regulatory bodies that will oversee compliance and handle concerns related to online games.
This move marks a significant step towards bringing structure to India’s rapidly growing online gaming sector, ensuring that both companies and players operate under a clear and responsible system.
